Job summary

Dewberry is seeking an experienced CAD/BIM Manager to support a high-priority federal client. You will manage large data sets and direct work in a classified environment, leading a local team of facilities professionals and BIM/CAD specialists.

The ideal candidate has strong technical and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, and experience across design, documentation, and facilities management for government projects.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience in commercial/government office building design and construction.
• Proficiency with the most current version of Revit and AutoCAD.
• Experience supporting national security, intelligence, law enforcement, defense, or federal programs.

Dewberry is seeking an experienced CAD/BIM Manager with background in commercial or governmental office buildings to support a high-priority federal client. Applicant must be proficient in the most current releases of Revit and AutoCAD.

Qualified candidates must possess both strong technical and interpersonal skills. This role requires management and modification of large volumes of data, such as building models, drawing files, content libraries, and supporting documents. Furthermore, the person in this role must be able to direct their work independently in a classified environment while supporting the interests of our client. Responsibilities

• Maintain portfolio, AutoCAD and Revit Libraries.


• Be proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Programs.


• AutoCAD skills include creating blocks, sheet sets, space objects, polylines and layer management.


• Revit skills to include creating families, renderings and managing models.


• Independently lead a local team consisting of facilities professionals and Operations and


• Maintenance personnel in creating BIM standards and procedures.


• Work with other BIM/CAD Managers to establish BIM standards and procedures for other Bureau owned facilities.


• Digitally create Design Intent Drawings, Space Plans, Test Fits, Stack-plans, Area Plans, Plot Plans, and Building Calculations.


• Work with project teams to integrate submittals, manufacturers’ data and as-built information into the BIM model in order to enhance the model’s Facilities Management Capabilities.


• Work with project teams to extract quantities of material and production from the model.


• Work with project teams to integrate BIM into the RFI process in order to more clearly communicate information.


• Review technical documentation and drawings against as-builts for technical accuracy and completeness.


• Visit job sites and make preliminary layouts to check critical design problems and/or to re-check problem areas.


• Work from work orders as well as verbal and written instructions to perform duties.


• Consult with appropriate individuals as required.


• Incorporate drafting standards and procedures and other national building standards as required.


• Develop knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Structural schematics and drawings.


• Have working knowledge of office furniture, wall types, light fixtures, warehouse and industrial equipment.


• Continue to develop professional knowledge with regards to Architecture, AutoCAD, and BIM.


• Other similar or related services not of a decision-making nature.


• Miscellaneous services which will require proficiency in the use of Microsoft’s Word, Excel, Power Point, and Project software tools.


• Assist in the development of reports and studies.


• Exhibit good customer service skills and be a cooperative team player.


• Able to multitask and take on multiple projects or assignments simultaneously.


• Collaborate and assist in resolving critical and possibly controversial issues with a multi-disciplined team of architects, engineers and federal agency clients.


• Understand and be able to implement standards as outlined in the POR, Campus Design


• Guides and Construction Standards. Suggest edits or updates to these documents, as applicable.

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, Business, Public Administration, or a related field preferred.


• 5- 10 years of experience in commercial/government office building design and construction.


• Proficiency with the most current version of Revit and AutoCAD.


• Demonstrated experience supporting national security, intelligence, law enforcement, defense, or other mission-critical federal programs, with a preference for experience with the FBI.


• Experience supporting multidisciplinary teams, contractor personnel, and/or subcontractors in a complex federal environment.


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as Google Chrome and related collaboration and productivity tools.


• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with government leadership, technical professionals, analysts, and diverse contractor teams.


• Excellent oral and written presentation skills, including the ability to communicate complex analytical findings and recommendations to non-technical audiences and senior executives.


• Experience within an AEC, facilities, infrastructure, real estate, or federal capital program environment, supporting large, complex federal programs or portfolios, and operating in classified or highly sensitive environments.
