Dewberry's Architecture Team in Richmond, VA is seeking a Project Architect to lead from concept through construction on federal, state, local government, and civic facilities. You will guide projects with a focus on design excellence, codes, schedules, and client expectations while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate holds an accredited architecture degree, is licensed, and has 8+ years of experience with strong client relationships and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Architect with reciprocal licensure in additional states.
  • Minimum of 8 years of post-graduate experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead project teams, clients, consultants, and contractors.
  • Collaborative approach to all aspects of the practice.
  • Knowledge of local code requirements and agency interfacing.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and coordination of construction documents, drawings and specs.
  • Balance technical excellence, design quality and project requirements.
  • Own projects and components, progress with minimal direction.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver well-coordinated designs.

In this role, you'll:

Required Skills & Required Experience
  • Professional Architecture degree from an accredited University is required.
  • Licensed Architect required, with ability for reciprocal licensure in additional states.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead project teams, clients, consultants, and contractors.
  • Collaborative approach to all aspects of the practice.
  • Adept knowledge of local code requirements and ability to efficiently interface with agencies having jurisdiction, as required.
  • A design portfolio demonstrating experience will be required.

The projected range for this position is $105,000-$145,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.

Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.
