Job summary

Coffman Engineers is seeking an experienced Engineering CAD/BIM Drafter to join our DC Metro office. You will support multiple disciplines with Revit and AutoCAD, producing coordinated drawings and BIM models from markups and specifications.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of BIM/CAD drafting in an engineering office, strong attention to detail, and teamwork experience across engineers, designers, and BIM staff. Hybrid schedule offered.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a certified CAD training program or technical/associate degree in engineering or a related field.
• Strong proficiency with Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
• 2+ years of BIM/CAD drafting and modeling experience in an engineering office.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• High attention to detail and commitment to high-quality deliverables.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain engineering drawings and BIM models using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Produce drawings, exhibits, layouts, and construction documents across design phases.
• Incorporate redlines and design changes accurately and efficiently.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistency across deliverables.
• Support model development per project requirements and industry standards.
• Participate in BIM coordination and clash detection efforts.
• Assist with existing-condition documentation, field verification, and site survey updates.
• Prepare final drawing packages and project deliverables for client submissions.
• Maintain organized project files and model/version control.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to translate design intent into constructible drawings.
• Participate in Coffman BIM/CAD committees.
