Job summary

Mott MacDonald seeks a talented BIM Drafter to join our New York/Iselin - Metropark, NJ office, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across North America. You will develop drawings, layouts, and models using Civil3D and Revit, and ensure consistency with company standards.

Preferred candidates hold an Associate or Technical Degree in CAD/Survey/Construction, 5–10 years of experience, and experience with Bentley tools. Strong communication and adaptability to grow into leadership are valued.

Qualifications

• Associate or Technical Degree in CAD, Survey, Construction from an accredited institution.
• 5–10 years' experience preferred.
• Experience with Bentley tools for mechanical and plumbing systems.
• Drafting/BIM experience in a design or construction team.
• Willingness to learn new software as demand arises.
• Knowledge of ISO 19650 standards is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills for team-based work.
• Ability to grow beyond initial role and manage teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop drawings, layouts, and sketches using Autodesk Civil3D and Revit.
• Review drawings and markup with an organized, methodical mindset.
• Prepare submittal package drawings and track production of required drawings under the direction of the team and task leads.
• Assist in preliminary layout of complex assignments to define appropriate drawings and information.
• Draft & model within accepted company and/or national standards; assist in the evolution of standards where appropriate.
• Prepare design modifications from provided sketches and data when prototypes or standard libraries are not available.
• Review and check others' models and drafting work for consistency and adherence to procedures, standards, and references.
• Model building services elements.
