Job summary

Signature Homes in Birmingham, AL is seeking a highly skilled BIM Architectural Designer to create accurate, code‑compliant home plans in HighArc and support legacy Revit models. This in‑office role focuses on detailing, residential construction knowledge, and IRC/IBC code compliance within our Birmingham, AL office.

You will draft plans, update models, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure constructability and standards as we develop new home plans from concept to release.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of residential CAD/BIM drafting experience.
• Strong knowledge of residential construction & framing.
• Experience with Revit.
• Understanding of IRC code requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft and maintain plans, options, elevations, and details in HighArc.
• Support and update legacy Revit models during our transition to HighArc.
• Produce accurate construction details and ensure drawings meet IRC/IBC code requirements.
• Review redlines and field feedback to correct and refine plans.
• Ensure constructability, consistency, and accuracy across the master plan library.
• Support the development of new home plans from concept through release.
• Collaborate with other internal teams to resolve plan discrepancies and improve plan standards.

Signature Homes is currently seeking a highly skilled BIM Architectural Designer in Birmingham, AL

to support the creation of accurate, code‑compliant, and constructible home plans. This role works in HighArc and supports legacy Revit models, focusing on technical detailing, residential construction knowledge, and building code requirements. This is an in‑office position based in our Birmingham, AL office.
