Oglethorpe Power Corp. is offering a Billing Services Co-op to gain hands-on experience in utility billing, data validation, and process documentation in a collaborative team setting.

The role supports modernizing legacy billing applications, developing and testing billing intelligence tools, and ensuring timely invoices for EMCs. You will work with SQL, Java, and Sencha while rotating through duties to build broad exposure.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly wholesale power billing activities, including collecting, reviewing, reconciling, and validating data used to calculate EMC bills.
• Support the modernization, development, testing, and documentation of billing applications, billing intelligence tools, databases, dashboards, and related solutions.
• Assist with assigned departmental projects using SQL, Java, Sencha, systems analysis, and project management skills.
• Learn the agreements, documents, data flows, generating assets, and business processes that support billing calculations.
• Prepare and maintain process documentation, test results, data analyses, status updates, and other materials.
• Collaborate with Billing Services staff, Family of Companies personnel, IT resources, and other data providers to research issues and support process improvements.
• Rotate among department team members to gain broad exposure to billing functions and support cross‑training.
• Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned, including occasional overtime during monthly billing cycles when required.
