Job summary

Wellfleet Group, part of the MedPro Group family, seeks an experienced Billing Consultant to support the Wellfleet Workplace block of business. The role centers on accurate and timely billing, resolving billing inquiries, and coordinating with internal and external teams on billing matters.

Responsibilities include processing invoices, managing complex accounts, creating workflows, and training new hires. The position requires a bachelor’s in medical billing (or 5+ years experience) and strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical billing or related field or 5+ years of equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of the workplace benefits industry required.
• Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships with internal and external customers.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of the team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with thorough follow-up on time-sensitive items.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail with problem-solving and issue resolution.

Responsibilities

• Process customer billing, analyzing data, producing invoices, and billing reports accurately and timely.
• Manage more complex workloads/customer accounts.
• Create or modify process documentation and workflows as needed.
• Identify and execute on process improvements.
• Train and mentor new hires.
• Handle and collect group level past dues.
• Work with client management, sales, and external parties to resolve billing and broker compensation issues.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of billing-related transactions.
• Independently research and respond to customers by phone, email, or other forms of communication.
• Research issues or concerns, and escalate to appropriate parties to determine resolutions and follow up.
