With multiple clinics and a rapidly growing footprint, we are looking for a Billing Specialist Team Lead to drive accuracy, compliance, and revenue cycle efficiency.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Billing Specialist to lead our internal billing team and manage day-to-day revenue cycle operations. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing billing assistants, ensuring claim accuracy, timely reimbursements, and driving KPIs like clean claim rate and days in A/R.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Oversight

• Lead and mentor a team of Billing Assistants across multiple clinic locations

• Oversee daily workflows, prioritize tasks, and manage performance

• Conduct weekly billing team meetings and 1:1 check-ins

• Coordinate with Clinic Directors and Operations to resolve billing concerns quickly

Revenue Cycle Management

• Ensure accurate submission of insurance and cash claims via ChiroHD and clearinghouses

• Monitor and reduce rejections, denials, and outstanding A/R

• Post payments (EOBs, EFTs, checks, cash) and reconcile accounts weekly

• Manage CareCredit, Cash Practice, and other patient financing platforms

• Submit pre-authorizations, verify benefits, and follow-up on treatment plan approvals

Compliance & Reporting

• Stay current on chiropractic-specific billing guidelines (CPT, ICD-10, modifier use, state law)

• Ensure all claims meet payer compliance requirements

• Generate and present weekly billing performance reports to leadership

• Track and report KPIs including:

• Clean Claim Rate

• Days in A/R

• Denial Rate

• % of Claims Paid Within 30 Days

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of billing experience (chiropractic or physical therapy preferred)

• 1+ year of experience leading or mentoring a team

• Proficiency in EMRs (ChiroHD preferred), clearinghouses, and billing platforms

• Strong knowledge of CPT codes, ICD-10, chiropractic modifiers, and payer guidelines

• High attention to detail, accountability, and data-driven mindset

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Comfortable in a fast-paced, multi-location environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CareCredit and Cash Practice

• Familiarity with Slack, Gmail, and Google Workspace

• RCM certification or chiropractic billing course completion
