Billing Specialist – Hybrid position

What You’ll Do

Responsible for accurate and timely customer billing utilizing knowledge of company products and processes. Creates and reviews detailed report analysis to ensure billing is complete. Interacts with other departments within the organization in support of the customer and the department.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Performs billing functions for assigned set of clients
  • Requests approval for and issues credits as needed
  • Creates and maintains spreadsheets for billing purposes
  • Maintain and reference documentation of all related processes
  • Respond to client questions regarding invoices
  • Reviews invoices for completeness and accuracy
  • Follows up with clients or internal parties to resolve discrepancies
  • Assist with collections process for aged receivables as required
  • Ensure compliance with client contracts and service level agreements
  • Identify and track areas of opportunity
  • Provide solutions to any relative problems of clients
  • Actively participate in Billing Team and Finance Operations meetings

What You’ll Bring

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates degree, preferred in Accounting, Finance and/or Business
  • 2+ years’ experience in client billing/invoicing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to interpret and adhere to established processes provided in both written and oral format to support timely accurate billing.
  • Ability to read, interpret and understand client contractual documents. I.E. Purchase Orders, Contracts, etc.
  • Adherence to laws and best practices regarding dealing with customers and data electronically
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables related to the billing process
  • Ability to organize tasks and time to ensure timely completion of all projects.
  • Ability to work independently and also collaboratively with all related team members
  • Proficient in use of Outlook and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) applications
