Job summary

SBNC Goleta seeks a Billing Specialist I to scrub daily visits, post charges, and complete daily billing batches, while responding to patient billing inquiries in a busy clinic setting. You will coordinate with clinic staff and the Billing Manager to ensure accurate submissions and timely statements.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent (medical coding training preferred) and about one year of medical billing/front-desk experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; medical coding training or equivalent.
• One year of medical front desk or medical billing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding.
• Proficiency in Windows, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Scrub daily visits, post charges, and complete daily billing batches.
• Respond to patient billing inquiries and educate on balances and payment options.
• Coordinate with clinic staff and Billing Manager to ensure clean claim submission.
• Review charges and verify services rendered prior to billing.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and accurate day sheets.
• Assist in training other staff on billing procedures.
