Job summary

Lel-Home-Services is seeking a Billing Assistant to provide administrative and operational support to the Billing Department. You will assist with daily billing activities for LEL Home Services and Home Health programs, help ensure records are accurate, and work with internal departments to resolve billing issues.

The role reports to the Billing Manager and involves in-office work, data entry, eligibility checks, and preparation of documentation to support timely reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Prepare, review, and submit billing batches and claims, ensuring accuracy and compliance with payer requirements.
• Verify Medicaid and payer eligibility and identify eligibility issues that may impact billing and reimbursement.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient, client, employee, and organizational information in accordance with policies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and submit billing batches and claims.
• Perform pre-billing audits and assist with identifying and correcting claim errors.
• Upload and submit electronic claims through EDI systems and monitor billing activity.
• Verify Medicaid and payer eligibility and identify eligibility issues.
• Assist with data entry and documentation related to authorizations and service records.
• Retrieve and review remittance advice, post payments and adjustments.
• Review outstanding claims and follow up on accounts receivable.
• Research billing discrepancies and escalate complex issues.
• Maintain accurate and organized billing and documentation.
