Job summary

Transition Home Healthcare and Pathways Hospice in Houston, TX seeks an AR/Billing Specialist to ensure accurate reimbursement for home health and hospice services. You will handle billing, AR, and authorization workflows across EMR systems and collaborate with payors and care teams.

You will monitor aged accounts, resubmit overdue bills, report metrics to the Revenue Cycle Director, and maintain confidentiality. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with HCHB EMR are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of billing experience in home health or hospice.
• Knowledge of different insurance/HMO plans and how to research issues.
• Understanding of home health insurance, authorization and appeals requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Ensure reimbursement through billing and patient account collections and AR management.
• Update billing records in EMR systems and document follow-up information.
• Work aged receivables, resubmit overdue bills, and escalate delinquent accounts.
• Gather and report key billing information to Revenue Cycle Director.
• Maintain knowledge of payor contracts and ensure contract-based billing.
• Protect confidentiality of patient and organization information.
