Job summary

CareOne in Concord, MA is seeking a Billing Specialist to manage billing for multiple facilities, including discharge billing and aging follow-up. The role requires accuracy, timely filing, and clear communication with insurers and clinical staff.

Qualifications

• Prefer 2 years experience in Insurance billing in a SNF setting.
• Emdeon and PCC experience a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly excel.
• Strong knowledge of billing and collection practices.
• Excellent customer service and telephone etiquette.
• Able to work independently and perform multiple tasks efficiently.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Daily discharge billing.
• Daily review and follow up on outstanding claims on aging.
• Monthly billing of claims and month-end close for buildings.
• Bills all claims within appropriate timeframe from the date of service.
• Investigates problems and re-bills corrected claims.
• Manages authorizations, insurance changes, denials and appeals.
• Communicates professionally with patients, insurers, physicians and clinical staff.
• Assist with special projects as needed.

The Billing Specialist is responsible for billing for multiple facilities Managed Care claims.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Daily discharge billing
• Daily review and follow up on outstanding claims on aging
• Monthly billing of claims and responsible to handle the month end close for building(s).
• Bills all claims within appropriate timeframe from the date of service.
• Investigates all problems and solves all problem claims while correcting information in order to re-bill claim.
• Identifies and manages authorization, insurance changes, denials and appeals.
• Communicates professionally and effectively with patients, insurance companies, physicians and clinical personnel.
• Assist with special projects as needed
