You will manage claims end-to-end, review denials, and provide professional interaction with patients and internal teams, ensuring confidentiality and service excellence in a fast-paced revenue cycle environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 5+ years experience in medical office billing.
• 2 years of billing experience.
• Proficient with CPT/HCPCS/ICD-9/ICD-10.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Access).
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Follow up insurance account balances for all divisions.
• Contact insurance plans for claim status and resubmits/appeals as required.
• Submit medical records requested for claims processing.
• Review and correct denials from the payment team.
• Answer incoming billing phone calls.
• Back up duties as needed by the Guarantor AR specialist.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Compensation: $20 – $25 Hourly

Overview: Nexus HR is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join a reputable healthcare clinic in Centennial, CO. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely billing, maintaining compliance with clinic policies, and supporting efficient reimbursement by insurance payers. The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism, accountability, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to patient confidentiality and service excellence.

About the Job

The Billing Specialist will manage and review claims to ensure they are accurately prepared, submitted, and processed for timely reimbursement. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the clinic’s revenue cycle while providing professional and service-oriented support to patients and internal teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Insurance account balance follow-up for all divisions

• Contact insurance plans for status of outstanding claims and resubmits/appeals as required

• Submits any medical records requested for claims to process

• Reviews and corrects all claim denials from payment specialist

• Answers incoming billing phone calls

• Other responsibilities as delegated by management

• Back up to be done by Guarantor AR specialist

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or GED)

• 5 years’ experience working in a medical office performing medical billing processes.

• 2 years of billing experience.

• Experience with Greenway Intergy/Phreesia.

• CPT/HCPCS/ICD-9/ICD-10 proficiency

• Professional verbal and written communication skills.

• Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Access).

• Knowledge of medical billing.

• Knowledge of medical terminology.
