Job summary

Lifespace Communities seeks a detail-oriented Billing Specialist for the Bloomington community. You will manage resident billing and accounts receivable, generate monthly statements, and ensure accurate posting of invoices, charges, and payments to support residents, families, and operations.

Candidates should have skilled nursing billing experience, strong AR knowledge, and proficiency with billing software. Healthcare billing exposure is preferred, with a focus on accuracy and customer service.

Qualifications

• Skilled nursing billing experience is required.
• Strong understanding of accounts receivable and private pay billing processes.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in senior living, long-term care, or healthcare billing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee resident billing and accounts receivable for an assigned community.
• Generate, review, and distribute monthly resident statements.
• Post invoices, charges, payments, and billing adjustments accurately.
• Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on delinquent accounts per policy.
• Participate in AR review meetings and recommend collection actions when appropriate.
• Prepare accounts for collection agency submission when necessary.
• Verify insurance coverage and complete pre-authorizations for admissions.
• Maintain accurate census information including admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Ensure move-in documentation is complete and maintained.

What You'll Do

As our Billing Specialist, you'll oversee resident billing and accounts receivable for an assigned community while serving as a trusted resource for residents, families, and team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all resident private pay billing and accounts receivable activities.
• Generate, review, and distribute monthly resident statements.
• Post invoices, charges, payments, and billing adjustments accurately.

• Participate in Accounts Receivable review meetings and recommend collection actions when appropriate.
