Billing Representative (Administrative)

SpecialtyRx is a full-service pharmacy seeking a Billing Representative with pharmacy experience at our Ridgefield Park, NJ location.

Hours: 12:00pm-8:00pm, Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends.

Training will be onsite for 3 weeks, with potential to transition to remote work.

Billing Representative Responsibilities:

1. Perform duties assigned by the Billing Supervisor.
2. Research and establish patient eligibility coverage with insurance providers (state and private).
3. Determine and process insurance rejections using the daily report.
4. Maintain and update patient billing and insurance information in the system.
5. Submit prior authorizations for state insurance programs.
6. Interact daily with insurance companies regarding overrides, rejections, and updates.
7. Coordinate with client facility staff, PDP (Medicare), CMS, NJM, and NYM as necessary.
8. Follow up and resolve pending billing issues.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Courteous and professional phone skills.
• Computer literacy.
• Ability to work nights and weekends.
• Previous retail pharmacy experience is required.
• Experience in Long Term Care Pharmacy is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with New York pharmacy billing claims is preferred.
• Knowledge of Frameworks/ECM is a plus.
• Detail-oriented.
