Job summary

Stephenville Medical and Surgical Clinic is seeking a Billing Specialist to maximize insurance payments by reviewing explanations of benefits and pursuing appeals as needed. You will ensure compliance with government regulations and clinic policies in a fast-paced billing department.

The role requires strong knowledge of billing procedures, ICD-10/CPT coding when applicable, and excellent attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Typing speed of 35 WPM or higher.
• General knowledge of billing department functions, claims reimbursement, and filing procedures.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to travel for workshops and seminars.
• Strong communication with billing companies, agencies, patients and co-workers.
• Maintain absolute confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Process 100% of tasks within 48 hours for proper reimbursement and/or appeal write back.
• Ensure 100% accuracy of follow-up and research accounts for accuracy.
• Work all unpaid balances and credits on a monthly basis.
• Handle Privia Tasks and access to billing systems.
• Attend seminars/workshops to stay current on billing issues.
