Job summary

Baxter International Inc. is seeking a Supervisor of Medical Billing & Insurance Verification to lead a team handling insurance discovery and billing processes for multiple payers.

You will oversee daily operations, ensure timely submissions, manage KPIs, and drive improvements in reimbursement outcomes. The role requires 3–5 years in revenue cycle and 2+ years of supervision, with strong knowledge of HIPAA and payer requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's preferred.
• 3–5 years in healthcare revenue cycle, medical billing, insurance discovery, claims management, or reimbursement operations.
• 2+ years in supervisory or people leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid billing and reimbursement processes.
• Working knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare compliance regulations.
• Experience with billing systems, reimbursement platforms, and revenue cycle technologies.
• Familiarity with clearinghouses, payer portals, eligibility verification systems, and insurance discovery tools.
• Understanding of broader revenue cycle functions and cardiology billing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of medical billing and insurance discovery professionals, including hiring and performance management.
• Oversee daily billing and insurance discovery operations to ensure timely claim submission and issue resolution.
• Monitor KPIs related to productivity, quality, billing accuracy, and service levels.
• Analyze billing trends to identify challenges and improve reimbursement outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, and payer requirements.
• Drive process improvements to increase clean claim rates and reduce denials.
• Collaborate with Revenue Cycle Management and other stakeholders to optimize performance.
• Lead initiatives, workflow enhancements, and system implementations.
