Job summary

Steinberg Diagnostics in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a detail-oriented billing specialist to handle mailing, patient billing, and collections tasks within our in-house operations. You will answer calls, resolve billing discrepancies, and post payments taken over the phone.

Experience with Intergy Radiology Information System and Phreesia is preferred; a high school diploma is required. You will work with the Account Manager, maintain accurate records, and support cross-training to ensure efficient

Responsibilities

• Post patient payments taken over the phone in the Phreesia System.
• Perform other duties as needed for efficient department operation.

Job description

Duties include but not limited to mailing out HCFA 1500s as well as all other in-house mail, updating addresses on all returned mail utilizing the Ever View System. Answer and triage all in-coming Calls and assist patients in resolving billing discrepancies. Assist Account Manager with calls, correspondences, and explanation of benefits and Payment Plans under New Guidelines in Phreesia. Post Patient Payments taken over the phone in the Phreesia System. May perform other job related duties as necessary for the efficient operation of SDMI.

MINIMUM SKILLS, ABILITY AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be a high school graduate or equivalent and have prior Billing/Collections experience. Intergy Radiology Information System experience preferred.
• Skill in organizing time to accommodate changes in workload and assignments in order to complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Any employee who discovers, is directly involved in or is responding to an event/occurrence/risk is required to complete or direct the completion of an occurrence report within 24 hours of event/occurrence/risk.
• Staff members may be monitored at any time during business calls without notification. SDMI management may listen in on conversations for training, monitoring and other legitimate business purposes.
• Skill to pay attention to details and accuracy in completing tasks.
• Responds positively to changes in assignments and priorities.
• Works as an effective team member with co-workers and other personnel.
• Communicates effectively when follow up is needed.
• Able to identify hazardous material in immediate work area.
• Know and follows all SDMI safety and evacuation guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Willingly participates in cross-training activities within the department for own professional growth in order to contribute to the overall function of SDMI.
• Assumes responsibility for updating knowledge of current SDMI department policies and procedures, protocol and practices.
• Demonstrates punctuality by reporting to work on time/satisfactory attendance record that complies with SDMI attendance policy.
• Takes full responsibility for all functions within job description and assures that all functions are completed before leaving SDMI at the end of the shift.
• Other duties as assigned.
