Billing Clerk- Billing Patient Financial Services- Corporate Full-Time Days

Performs clerical billing duties in support of the department with a minimum of errors and in a timely fashion.

Responsibilities

  • Obtains and returns medical records in a timely fashion
  • Assists in preparing charts
  • Transcribes all MDs orders accurately and in a timely fashion
  • Completes laboratory slips
  • Initiates and receives all faxes
  • Copies charts for Medicare audit, copies and files group progress notes
  • Files all diagnostic reports
  • Codes and tallies carfare sheets accurately
  • Obtains administrative signature and runs the voucher in a timely fashion
  • Accurately distributes tokens/Metro cards/carfare
  • Ensures that all benefit cards are checked weekly and an up-to date log is maintained

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • No experience required. Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare billing and knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Compensation Statement

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $26.91 - $29.24 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
