Job summary

Agave Ridge Behavioral Hospital is seeking a Billing and Payment Specialist to ensure expedient and accurate billing for treatment services. This on-site, full-time role handles posting of payments, adjustments, and daily cash reconciliation across a group of facilities.

You will review and rebill claims, manage cycles, and monitor payment trends. Ideal candidates have at least 5 years of healthcare billing experience, strong MS Office skills, and the ability to handle confidential information

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years of job-related experience; healthcare setting preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of office administration and equipment.
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks within deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Bill all patient claims promptly and accurately.
• Review and correct claims issues; rebill and use the clearing house.
• Evaluate billing cycles and update processes as needed.
• Print daily billing reports and monitor validation rates.
• Process daily claims rejection lists.
• Post insurance and patient payments, contractuals, and adjustments.
• Review explanations of benefits for accuracy and escalate as needed.
• Prepare adjustment forms with supporting documentation.
• Prorate patient accounts and monitor balances.
• Maintain daily cash log and investigate variances.
• Analyze system data to guide timely payment actions.
