Job summary

Houston Physicians Hospital in Webster, TX is seeking a Full-Time Billing and Collections Specialist to manage patient communications, statements, and accounts receivable. You will follow up on collections and ensure timely, accurately coded claims.

You will coordinate with staff to capture all charges and review financial obligations with patients and families, supporting efficient revenue cycle operations within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Four years of medical facility or medical business office experience preferred.
• Experience in customer relations or teaching preferred.
• Experience in third party payer requirements preferred.
• Automated billing systems experience required.
• Training/experience in business office activities preferred.
• Requires frequent and constant judgment for timely response to patient and staff questions and concerns.
• Adequate English written and interpersonal communication.
• Visual and auditory acuity adequate for computer use.

Generates patient account statements, maintains accounts receivable files, and follow up on collection of receivables. Responsible for ensuring claims are billed timely with accurate coding. Communicates with appropriate staff to ensure all charges are being captures through proper documentation. Reviews financial obligation with patient and family member.
