Job summary

Elevate Jacksonville seeks a Teacher-Mentor to develop relationships with middle, high, and elementary students in public schools, supporting graduation and post-secondary planning.

You will mentor youth, deliver classroom instruction with professional standards, and attend trainings. Travel outside Florida may be required; a 12-month position with a commitment to 24/7 student support is expected.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree or 5+ years proven experience; teaching preferred but not required.
• Minimum three years’ youth-service experience; certifications or education in youth services.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Willingness for 24/7 student support; 12-month position.
• Florida driver’s license and insurance, insurability per insurer.
• Ability to drive Elevate Jacksonville vehicles or own vehicle when needed.

Responsibilities

• Teach and manage classrooms professionally per Elevate Jacksonville standards and Duval County Public Schools system.
• Keep records of program implementation accurately and timely.
• Attend meetings and participate in trainings; travel outside Florida as required.
• Establish and build mentoring relationships to effect positive life-change in youth.
• Serve as a positive role model; reflect Elevate Jacksonville values and ethics.
• Represent Elevate Jacksonville in site visits and community events.
• Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned by leadership; participate in trainings.
