Job summary

Practice is seeking Education Champions to tutor 3rd–5th grade students in Temporary Housing during the school day in New York City. You’ll provide targeted in-person support in reading, phonics, literacy, and elementary math, with a focus on foundational skills and Regents prep where applicable.

You’ll work 10-35 hours per week, with flexible scheduling, and collaborate with teachers to tailor engaging, student-centered lessons while contributing to a mission of education equity.

Qualifications

• Degree-seeking student or graduate in Education or a related field.
• Willingness to work 10–35 hours per week at assigned school(s).
• Demonstrated commitment to underserved students and equity.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring in core subjects (Math, Reading, Writing, Social Studies, Science).
• Collaborate with teachers and school leaders to implement engaging, personalized learning strategies.
• Support Regents exam prep and foundational reading skills through phonics and literacy.
