Position Overview:

The Bilingual Trainer will serve as a crucial link between team members, management, and various departments to facilitate effective communication, training, and support in a multilingual environment. This role collaborates closely with the Safety Manager to deliver monthly safety training topics to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including PPE, Hearing Conservation, Hazard Communication (HazCom), and other safety protocols. Additionally, the Bilingual Trainer will work alongside the Production Manager to report on operational metrics such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), waste reduction, and downtime tracking.

Essential Functions
  1. Act as an interpreter between team members, managers, supervisors, and leads on all job-related issues.
  2. Demonstrate strong written and oral language skills in both English and one or more alternate languages, with keen attention to detail for accurate translations.
  3. Deliver effective training to team members on the shift, ensuring clear communication of job responsibilities, safety standards, and production expectations.
  4. Collaborate with new employees from Day 1 of onboarding, ensuring their success in understanding their roles.
  5. Translate written materials accurately for training purposes, adhering to company guidelines.
  6. Support monthly safety training initiatives alongside the Safety Manager, covering regulatory topics like PPE, HazCom, and Hearing Conservation.
  7. Work closely with the Production Manager to report and communicate on operational performance metrics, including OEE, waste, and downtime.
  8. Assist in resolving bilingual and bicultural issues to maintain a cohesive and productive work environment.
  9. Break down communication and cultural barriers to promote understanding and collaboration.
  10. Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned by management.
Job Requirements/Skills
  1. Ability to clearly communicate job expectations, complete required documentation, and perform quality and operational checks.
  2. Strong translation skills for written process and safety/food safety documentation.
  3. Fluency in both English and at least one alternate language (Pashto, Dari, Amharic, French, Spanish, Swahili) is required.
  4. Knowledge of workplace safety standards, especially in a manufacturing or food processing environment, is highly preferred.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and reporting; a basic knowledge of additional supporting programs such as Alchemy and Business Central is highly preferred.
  6. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Experience
  1. 1–3 years of experience in training, interpreting, or related fields preferred.
  2. Experience in a manufacturing or food processing environment is a definite plus.
  3. College degree preferred but not required.
