Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Associate degree or 60 college hours with ParaPro or equivalent test.
• Ability to speak, read and write English and the language of the ELL population.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic assistance for individual or small groups in home-language as directed by the teacher.
• Confer with teachers to select programs and materials.
• Assist in evaluating student progress and communicating feedback to students and parents.
• Assist with ESOL eligibility testing and related assessments.
• Provide translation for non-English speaking parents between home and school.
• Participate in the school’s ELL committee and ESOL meetings as translator/interpreter.
• Perform other non-instructional duties as assigned under supervision.
