Description

1. Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements, with written evidence of preparation as required.
2. Prepare lessons accommodating different student learning styles.
3. Present subject matter according to guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency, Board of Trustee policies, and administrative regulations.
4. Establish and maintain pupil behavior standards.
5. Implement a student evaluation system within the guidelines of state law or district policies.
6. Evaluate and record students’ progress regularly and report to parents as needed.
7. Teach the prescribed course of study for the subject and grade level.
8. Plan lessons aligned with subject objectives and prepare written lesson plans for substitutes.
9. Use diverse media and methods to motivate students and optimize instruction time.
10. Identify student needs and collaborate with staff to address health, attitude, and learning issues.
11. Be available for counseling students and parents outside class hours.
12. Participate in community outreach activities such as open houses and PTA meetings.
13. Coordinate work with aides, paraprofessionals, and student teachers when applicable.
14. Assist the principal in developing evaluation and assessment systems.
15. Maintain accurate student records and complete required reports and documentation.
16. Perform any additional duties as assigned.
17. Maintain regular and punctual attendance at the worksite.

Work Environment:

The noise level is usually moderate. Travel across the district is required. Remote work or alternate arrangements are not permitted for campus-based employees, as regular attendance at the worksite is essential.

Qualifications
