Description
- Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements and show written evidence of preparation as required.
- Prepare lessons that accommodate differences in student learning styles.
- Present subject matter according to guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency, Board of Trustee policies, and administrative regulations.
- Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior.
- Establish a system of student evaluation within the guidelines prescribed by law or district policies.
- Continuously evaluate and record student progress and report to parents as needed.
- Teach within the prescribed course of study for the subject area and grade level.
- Plan lessons leading to subject area objectives and prepare written lesson plans for substitutes.
- Provide various planned learning experiences using diverse media and methods to motivate students and optimize instruction time.
- Identify student needs and collaborate with professional staff to address health, attitude, and learning issues.
- Be available for counseling students and parents before and after school.
- Participate in community outreach activities like open house and PTA meetings to interpret educational programs.
- Coordinate work of aides, paraprofessionals, and student teachers when applicable.
- Work with the principal to develop evaluation and assessment systems aligned with district guidelines.
- Maintain accurate student records, reports, and documentation as required.
- Perform all other assigned duties.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance at the worksite.
Work Environment
The noise level is usually moderate. Travel within the district is required. Remote work is not an option for campus-based employees, as regular attendance and on-site duties are essential.
Qualifications
The following are the minimum requirements for this position:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university; valid Texas teacher certificate with necessary endorsements.
