Job summary

Horizon Services, Inc. seeks a SUD Counselor I to support intake, admissions, and treatment planning in Alameda County and San Mateo. You will monitor client progress, document in the EHR, and help discharge planning while guiding staff and delivering compassionate care.

The bilingual role requires fluency in Chinese, Spanish, Tagalog, or Vietnamese. This full-time position offers a signing bonus and a supportive, inclusive work environment committed to recovery services.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in one or more threshold languages: Chinese, Spanish, Tagalog, Vietnamese.
• Registration with California SUD certifying body is required.
• Experience in crisis intervention and documentation in EHRs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform intakes/admissions and treatment planning.
• Monitor client progress and maintain accurate EHR notes.
• Collaborate with Program Manager and Case Manager for referrals and discharge planning.
• Supervise staff and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for clients.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and 42 CFR.
