Job summary

TURN is seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor SUD bilingual AOD to provide drug and alcohol counseling to adult clients in a non-residential program in San Marcos, CA. The role includes day-to-day counseling, program orientation, and recovery skills instruction.

The position requires bilingual ability, experience in addiction services, and knowledge of CA Title 9 DUI program; a $500 sign-on bonus is offered after three months of continuous employment.

Qualifications

• Certification through a recognized alcohol and drug certification entity plus two years of experience, preferred.
• Active pursuit of certification with two years of related experience acceptable.
• B.A./B.S. in human services with one year of related experience acceptable.
• Knowledge of California Title 9 DUI provisions required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a caseload and provide individual and group counseling.
• Document progress and complete required paperwork on time.
• Prepare treatment and discharge plans and summaries.
• Attend treatment meetings and contribute to treatment plans.
• Deliver interventions aligned with rehabilitation goals and collaborate with staff.
• Schedule activities and co-lead groups; comply with HIPAA and program rules.
