Job summary

Dorcas International Institute of Rhode Island is seeking a Student Support Advisor to provide non-academic support for adult education students, aiming to maximize attendance and retention. You will serve as the main non-academic contact, assist with intakes, orientations, and testing, and collaborate with the management team on recruitment and program development.

The role requires at least an Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience, bilingual Spanish/English, strong interpersonal skills,

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Bilingual Spanish/English required.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and make appropriate referrals for needed resources and services.
• Ensure proper follow ups with face-to-face or virtual interactions.
• Provide problem solving; act as mediator/liaison internally and externally.
• Track attendance, testing outcomes, and progress in programs.
• Maintain records of student interactions, services, referrals, and outcomes.
• Stay up-to-date in student support best practices.
