Job Description

Store associates work closely with wholesale and retail customers to determine their needs, answer questions about Sherwin-Williams products, and recommend suitable solutions. They are also expected to resolve customer concerns promptly, ensure maximum client satisfaction, stay updated with product features, and maintain high quality and visual standards of the store. The role involves providing excellent customer service while meeting sales goals.

Job duties include contact with customers, which may involve minors; access to cash, electronic equipment, personal information, and store merchandise, with supervision or unsupervised access. A criminal history review is required to protect the business, its reputation, and customer safety.

The selected individual will work at Store #2390, located at 1280 Independence Dr, Rocky Mount, NC, 27804. This is a part-time position with up to 28 hours per week, starting at $14.50 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
• Assist customers in person and over the phone by determining needs and presenting appropriate products and services
• Build trust relationships with wholesale and retail customers
• Process sales transactions accurately following policies and procedures
• Achieve sales goals regularly
• Maintain precise work order files and formulas
• Pull products from the sales floor or warehouse
• Tint and mix products as per customer specifications
• Stock shelves and set up displays
• Clean store equipment
• Load/unload delivery trucks and assist with deliveries as needed
• Maintain an in-stock and presentable condition in assigned areas
• Stay knowledgeable about products and discuss options with customers
• Follow inventory control procedures
• Suggest ways to improve sales

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Legally authorized to work without sponsorship
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English and Spanish
• Valid, unrestricted Driver’s License
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and 70 lbs. on occasion, with or without reasonable accommodations
• Willingness to work scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED
• At least 1 year experience in delivery, retail, or customer service
• Previous experience selling paint and related products
• Experience operating tinting and mixing equipment
