Job summary

The Valley View Community Unit School District 365U is seeking a TEMPORARY full-time Special Education teacher to cover a Leave Of Absence for the 2026-2027 school year. The teacher will work under the Building Principal, collaborating with staff to develop and implement instructional strategies for students with disabilities in bilingual education settings (Spanish and English as needed).

Qualifications

Endorsement or approval in bilingual education or IL Type 29 certificate with Spanish endorsement and at least three years remaining.
Current LBS1 certificate or Type 10 (LD/ED) certification.
Excellent communication with students, teachers, and parents.

Responsibilities

Design high-content, engaging work for students.
Plan and instruct students on District and State Standards aligned curriculum, using integrated or direct service approaches as appropriate based on individual student needs.
Accommodate, modify and adapt lessons and curriculum as needed to meet individual student needs and IEP Goals.
Support in the facilitation of IEP meetings as well as development of the IEP.
Establish a safe, positive classroom environment conducive to learning.
Collaborate with staff to develop specially designed instruction and co-teaching models.
Modify, adapt and conduct assessments to evaluate student progress as directed.
Monitor and review student progress via assessment data and maintain records.
