Job summary

Toolkit Tutors is building an active, in-person tutor network for NYC public schools. We staff tutors across NYC on a placement-by-placement basis, focusing on English/Spanish instructional capacity, math/ELA/science tutoring, Regents support, test prep, and mentoring in small groups.

Qualified candidates typically hold a bachelor’s degree and have at least one year of school-based teaching or tutoring experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, completed (or near completion) with strong academic performance.
• At least one year of experience teaching or tutoring in a school setting.
• Strong knowledge of core content area and Instructional-Level Spanish.
• Experience working in urban school communities and an understanding of common student challenges.
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to student growth.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage students.
• Ability to commute to school sites across NYC.
• DOE fingerprint clearance strongly preferred.
