Job summary

Bixal is seeking a detailed, culturally fluent Spanish Content Translator to support a large federally funded program. This 1099 independent contractor role offers 50% allocation as a part-time position, with compensation at $50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Native or professional-level fluency in Spanish and English (written and spoken).
• Professional translation or interpretation certification preferred (ATA or equivalent).
• Experience with translation management systems (e.g., Lingotek) strongly preferred.
• Experience providing live/simultaneous interpretation for webinars, conferences, or public events.
• Strong writing skills with attention to accuracy and tone.
• Familiarity with plain-language and accessibility standards is a plus.
• Experience translating content for government or public-sector work is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in translation, linguistics, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality Spanish translations of website content, PDFs, captions, and learning modules.
• Maintain and improve a glossary for consistent terminology across properties.
• Provide live simultaneous Spanish interpretation for webinars and webcasts.
• Translate and review content for emails, social media, and customer service responses.
• Collaborate with UX research to support usability testing with Spanish-speaking users.
• Review content for plain-language and accessibility compliance.
• Collaborate with strategists, designers, and engineers to publish translations on schedule.
• Perform other duties as required.
