Job summary

Kansas City Public Schools is seeking a Dual Language Middle School Science Teacher to deliver science instruction in Spanish as part of a bilingual program. The role requires planning and assessing in alignment with district standards, while maintaining a positive classroom environment.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in Education with Secondary Education Certification, fluent in Spanish and proficient in English, and can collaborate with the Foreign Language staff to meet student

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or equivalent.
• Native or near-native fluency in Spanish.
• Good command of English (spoken and written).
• Secondary Education (6-12) Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Delivers science instruction in Spanish to support bilingual language acquisition and academic achievement.
• Develops and implements lesson plans, objectives, and activities aligned with district curriculum and state standards.
• Prepares, administers, and evaluates assessments to monitor student progress and instructional effectiveness.
• Maintains a positive, safe classroom environment and supports student development.
• Collaborates with Language Resource staff and teachers to meet program goals.
