Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and CNMI certification within two years for full-time/part-time roles. Medical experience may substitute for the degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; degree in social sciences, languages, or English preferred.
• Certification: Certified National Medical Interpreter within two years for full-time/part-time; three years for PRN.
• Medical experience/background can substitute for degree.

Responsibilities

• Provides accurate and timely interpretation to patients, families and health care team in developmentally appropriate manner.
• Manages flow of communication between patient/family and staff/provider.
• Maintains professional boundaries and refrains from counseling or imposing personal beliefs.
• Declines or withdraws from assignments if conflict of interest arises.
• Completes documentation and adheres to Quality Improvement standards.
