Job summary

The Tulsa Health Department seeks an interpreter fluent in English and Spanish to translate health information for clients in Family Planning, Adult Health/STD services. Duties include interpreting histories, screenings, and care plans, translating materials, and assisting with Medicaid eligibility and referrals.

Strong confidentiality and communication skills are essential. Two years of translation/interpretation experience and a high school diploma are required; medical interpretation

Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and spoken) required.
• Certificate in medical interpretation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret health history forms and explain screening/diagnostic tests.
• Interpret clinical interactions during visits and social work intake.
• Translate materials between English and Spanish.
• Assist with Medicaid eligibility forms and referrals to resources.
• Data entry in PHOCIS software and scheduling/communication with clients.
