Job summary

GardaWorld Federal Services seeks a Translator to provide accurate spoken interpretation and written translation between English and Spanish for detainees, facility personnel, medical staff, legal representatives, visitors, and operations within the detention facility.

This full-time role requires fluency in both languages, confidentiality, and the ability to work in high-stress environments. The position starts later this year and pays $23.09 per hour plus health and welfare benefits.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and Spanish with strong speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
• Minimum 1 year of professional translation or interpretation experience or related bilingual work.
• Proof of citizenship or US work authorization required.
• Background check and drug screening will be conducted.

Responsibilities

• Provide spoken interpretation between English and Spanish during interviews, medical appointments, and meetings.
• Translate notices, forms, instructions, and reports while preserving tone and meaning.
• Interpret terminology related to facility operations, medical care, legal services, safety, and resident services.
• Remain impartial and avoid altering information during interpretation or translation.
• Protect confidential information in accordance with policies and requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of assignments and support audits and compliance reviews.
• Coordinate with facility personnel, medical teams, legal representatives, government partners, and service providers.
• Follow access controls, safety requirements, and security procedures.
• Maintain professionalism and composure in high-stress situations.
• Support secure facility operations by providing timely language assistance as assigned.
