Job summary

Meador Staffing is seeking a direct hire Bilingual Shipping Supervisor for a client in Houston, TX (77051). This role leads day-to-day Shipping Dept activities to ensure on-time picking, packing, and shipping while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

You will supervise 7–10 staff, coordinate with Sales, Logistics, and QC, and train personnel on company processes. 3+ years shipping experience and bilingual ability are required; PVF and yard supervision experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of shipping experience.
• Bilingual required.
• PVF experience preferred.
• Experience as a yard supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all department equipment is in proper working condition (forklifts, pickers, crane, hand tools, etc.).
• Effectively communicates with department supervisors and upper management via email.
• Manages daily operational reports to identify workload and OT as needed.
• Coordinates with Sales on requests, priority levels, and any issues.
• Coordinates with Logistics on outbound shipments (flatbeds, Motor freight, hot shots, etc.).
• Coordinates with QC on material discrepancies and non-conforming stock material.
• Process and handles picking tickets by effectively communicating with Sales, Department Supervisors, and QC.
• Supports Will-call traffic by efficiently loading orders in a timely manner.
• Manages loading dock space daily by communicating with Logistics and Sales.
• Effectively trains personnel on company processes and procedures, submits training records, and identifies areas that need additional training.
• Attends production meetings to identify departmental issues and discuss ways to correct them.
• Identifies areas of improvement while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Manages shipping personnel on picking, packing, checking, and shipping processes.
• Effectively organize and manage a team of 7 to 10 employees.
