Job summary

Mastery Schools is seeking a Social Worker to improve academic performance and behavioral functioning for at-risk students through counseling, home visits, and direct intervention. The role reports to the Assistant Principal of Specialized Services and involves crisis intervention when needed.

Qualifications include a Master’s in Social Work, New Jersey School Social Work Certification, and NJ licensure being preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a child/adolescent social worker.
• Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.
• Ability to work on a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Explicit focus on outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Support students’ behavioral and academic success through counseling.
• Perform home visits and direct interventions.
• Consult with teachers and coordinate student supports.
• Manage crisis interventions and reporting.
• Liaise with outside agencies and providers.
• Track data on student supports and crises.
• Maintain documentation of services and referrals.
