Job summary

Mastery Schools in Camden, NJ is seeking a Social Worker to support at‑risk students through counseling, home visits, and collaboration with teachers and families. The role reports to the Assistant Principal of Specialized Services.

Candidates must hold a Master’s in Social Work, New Jersey School Social Work Certification, and be bilingual in English and Spanish; two years of related experience preferred. This is a full‑time position with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Master’s in Social Work or equivalent required.
• New Jersey School Social Work Certification required.
• Two years of experience as a child/adolescent social worker preferred.
• Bilingual English and Spanish required.
• Experience in urban education desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support students' behavioral and academic success through counseling and home visits.
• Handle behavioral health crises within the school.
• Coordinate with teachers and outside agencies and providers.
• Manage child abuse reporting and communicate with the Department of Human Services.
• Support homeless and pregnant/parenting students; identify social supports.
• Track data on student supports and crisis situations; maintain documentation.
