Job summary

Chelsea Public Schools is seeking a School Health Aide to support the health services team in Chelsea, MA. Under the supervision of the School Nurse, you will perform non-professional health tasks and translate for students and families.

The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent). Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, with CPR/First Aid certification; CNA is a plus, and you should be comfortable using basic office software. 30 hours per week, starting immediately.

Qualifications

• Minimum High school diploma or its equivalent.
• Bilingual - fluent in English/Spanish - verbal and written.
• CNA Preferred.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid - preferred.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff.
• Demonstrated technology capabilities.
• Understanding and capability of maintaining confidentiality in health information.

Responsibilities

• Assist in health care activities as directed.
• Translate accurately for students or parents who speak Spanish.
• Assist the School Nurse in mandated screenings and related tasks.
• Weigh and measure students and complete measurement graphs.
• Provide first aid care to students with minor injuries.
• Report illnesses and injuries to the School Nurse for review and follow-up.
• Contact parents of ill or injured children.
• Greet and screen office visitors and answer phone.
• Record health information and immunization facts.
• Maintain student health emergency information.
