Qualifications

• A.A. degree or equivalent education or qualifying experience.
• Bi-lingual in English and Spanish; fluent in reading, writing, listening and speaking in both languages.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, families, and school personnel in a diverse environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist families in communicating with teachers and schools; translate written materials as necessary.
• Build connections between parents, schools, and community agencies.
• Support student success in school including academic performance, attendance and behavior.
• Serve as a resource to meet the needs of students and families.
• Maintain confidentiality and cultural sensitivity while interpreting.
