Job summary

The New York Foundling is seeking a School-Based Mental Health (SBMH) Clinician to provide on-site mental health services to students within assigned NYC schools. The role includes workshops, crisis support, and individual/group/family counseling.

Qualifications include a Master’s degree in social work or related field, provisional licensure, and bilingual English/Spanish ability. Travel between sites and some office days are required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling or related field; provisional license required.
• Provisional licenses (LP-MHC, LMSW, LMHC, LCSW) with supervision expected.
• Experience with DSM-5 concepts and diverse populations; CBT/DBT knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide school-based individual, group, and family services to students.
• Conduct intakes, screenings and assessments; create treatment plans.
• Deliver clinical crisis intervention and safety planning.
• Document progress notes per guidelines and regulations.
• Engage caregivers and collaborate with school and community systems.
• Lead psychoeducational workshops for staff, caregivers, and students.
• Build relationships with administration, counselors, social workers and coordinators.
• Attend trainings and meetings to support clinical development.
