Job summary

Illinois School District U-46 is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to support students at Hilltop Elementary and South Elgin High School. The position is a split assignment (0.8 Hilltop ES / 0.2 South Elgin HS) with responsibilities for identification, evaluation, and remediation of articulation, language, and voice disorders within a school-based setting.

The ideal candidate will hold an Illinois SLP certificate and license, plus a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.

Qualifications

Illinois Certificate with Speech-Language Pathology endorsement (Type73 or Type10 or Type03).
Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation Speech-Language Pathologist license.
Master's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology.

Responsibilities

Work with parents, students, and staff to prevent, identify, evaluate and remediate a wide range of oral communication problems, including articulation, voice, fluency and language disorders.
Identification includes pre-referral processes, screenings and referrals for evaluation.
Assessment may include data collection, interpretation, report writing, sharing results with parents and staff, determining eligibility for services, and developing IEPs.
Intervention includes caseload management, direct remediation in educational settings, pull-out services, consultation on academics and social issues, developing ongoing goals, documenting progress, collaborating with teachers, and annual reviews.
Complete caseload records for special education funding.
Maintaining student IEPs and evaluations in the web-based program.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
