The New Mexico Department of Health’s Office of Oral Health is seeking a Dental Assistant to support the school-based prevention program, assist the Registered Dental Hygienist, apply sealants or fluoride varnish, and manage health records and metrics.

Minimum qualifications include a High School diploma, a Certificate in Dental Assisting or AS in Dental Health, with bilingual English/Spanish, CPR and OSHA certification, and two years of related experience; a valid driver's license and Defensive

Qualifications

• Bilingual English and Spanish is preferred.
• Experience reporting metrics (data surveillance).
• Current CPR and OSHA certification.
• Experience providing oral health education to individuals and groups.

Responsabilités

• Assist the Registered Dental Hygienist in evaluating teeth and applying sealants or fluoride varnish.
• Maintain health records and record program metrics.
• Prepare materials for sealants/varnish and coordinate event appointments.
• Receive, maintain, and order dental and office supplies; manage supplies with OSHA guidelines.
