Job summary

United Community & Family Services, Inc. is seeking a School-Based Behavioral Health Clinician to deliver mental health services to middle school students in an Eastern CT setting. The role operates 52 weeks per year, with a 40-hour weekly schedule, 8:00am–2:45pm, Monday through Friday.

You will conduct clinical assessments, coordinate care with school staff, and ensure compliance with Medicaid and state payer requirements while supporting student well-being in a nurturing environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work, counseling, or MFT.
• 2 years of experience treating children/adolescents with behavioral health needs.
• CT LMSW, LPC-A, or MFTA; eligible for LCSW/LMFT/LPC licensure.
• Fluency in Spanish; strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical assessment and treatment in client-centered care aligned with quality standards.
• Monitor and document weekly progress towards short-term and long-term goals.
• Maintain documentation per agency, licensee, and payer requirements (DCF, DMHAS, CT-BHP, Medicaid).
• Assess risk and determine appropriate level of care for crisis and non-crisis cases.
• Coordinate referrals and collaborate with school personnel, DCF, courts, and other providers.
• Participate in clinical supervision and coordinate treatment with psychiatrists; maintain licensure.
• Engage in professional activities such as school-sponsored events to promote the program.
• Treat coworkers, clients, and visitors respectfully and professionally; address conflicts constructively.
• Perform other duties as assigned by School Based Health Center BH Supervisor.
