Job summary

SA Recycling in Phenix City, AL is seeking a reliable Non-Ferrous Scale Operator who is bilingual and safety-minded. You will weigh and grade inbound loads, operate scales, guide drivers, and handle payments and documentation.

The role includes basic office duties and works outdoors in varied weather, Monday through Saturday. Prior experience with truck scales or scrap metal environment is a plus; good customer service and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Bilingual English and Spanish a plus.
• Experience operating truck scales and yard operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate scale to weigh inbound and outbound trucks.
• Review inbound loads and document them.
• Direct drivers to loading/unloading areas.
• Complete required documentation for vehicles and loads.
• Process payments and maintain transaction records.
• Assist customers with pricing questions and maintain contacts.
• Perform general office duties.
• Participate in scale testing and report issues.
