Job summary

GT’s Living Foods seeks a Safety Specialist to develop, administer, and implement safety programs ensuring a healthy work environment. You will guide management and staff, drive safety compliance, and lead hazard analyses.

Responsibilities include training, investigations, and enforcement of safety procedures, while promoting wellness and a proactive safety culture within the company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Occupational Safety & Health, or CSP certified.
• 2+ years of job-related experience.
• Flexible scheduling to include nights and weekends.
• Bi-lingual; speak, read & write Spanish fluently.
• Proficiency with SharePoint, Word, Excel, Power-Point.

Responsibilities

• Provides administrative and technical advice to both management and employees.
• Ensures compliance with all Federal, State & local laws and regulations.
• Reviews, updates, and communicates safety procedures.
• Promotes employee safety awareness by coordinating and facilitating engaging training.
• Executes tactical strategy of Company Safety Program.
• Collects and interprets data from job-hazard analyses.
• Conducts investigations and reports to management safety trends.
• Key stakeholder in Department Safety Committees.
• Manages incentive programs and serves as the Safety Officer during emergency situations.
• Makes recommendations on disciplinary action to management to drive a safety culture of accountability.
• Promotes wellness and positive behaviors through a meaningful recognition program.
